Our Work

Conservator carefully cleans mural

Conservation

Vanka’s bold murals face age and conditions that naturally occur in an old church atop a hill. The conservation of the Vanka Murals continues with the support of a Save America’s Treasures Grant awarded by the Institute of Museum & Library Services and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.

Lighting

Combining the illumination principles of art, theatre, and architecture, an energy-efficient LED lighting system has been designed to evenly illuminate the murals in high quality, non-destructive light – bringing out every detail of Vanka’s work.
